Daily Ag Direction 3/27/25
Good Morning!
Monday the USDA will release the March Stocks/Planting report. Average trade estimates are as follows:
Corn 94.4 million acres vs 90.6 in 2024
Milo 6.1 million acres vs 6.3 in 2024
Soybeans 83.8 million acres vs 87.1 in 2024
Wheat 46.5 million acres vs 46.1 in 2024
The wheat market is catching a bid this morning with the potential for record small spring acres plantings on Monday. Weather maps have dialed back some of the rains for Russian wheat areas. Better chance of rains for the US southern plains but the most needed areas still look to miss out as they battle warm temps.
The corn market saw an estimated 18k contracts sold by funds yesterday bringing net longs to +63k. Current price levels don’t seem to be interesting producers booking new crop as they are now looking for some weather issues this spring or summer to get new crop booked.
May KC Wheat is +3 @ $5.68
July KC Wheat is +2.75 @ $5.82
May Corn is up ¾ of a cent @ $4.52
Dec Corn is -1 @ $4.435
May Soybeans are +7.75 @ $10.0875
Nov Soybeans are +6.75 @ $10.135
